Our buddy Chad, who's been in Korea for quite some time now, escorted us on our first day trip (on Rob's birthday!) to Seoul, South Korea's bustling capital city. Here are a few photos from our busy day there. Click on any of the images to see a larger version, then hit the "back" button on your browser to return to this page.

Cheris checking out a cool sculpture in Insa-dong, Seoul's amazing arts and crafts district.
Chad and Cheris outside the enormous Youngsan Electronics Mall, with what seemed like the entire population of Seoul crossing the street in the background.
Cheris among a sea of people at the also-enormous Namdaemun outdoor market.
We arrived at Kongbukkung Palace, an ancient capital complex in Seoul, a bit too late to get inside, but here's Rob dwarfed by the palace gate.
A friendly Japanese tourist asked to have her picture taken by the gate, then she invited Cheris into the picture, so Rob snapped one with his own camera.
The old north gate to the city near Kongbukkung, with the contrast of modern Seoul in the background.
We headed back to Taejon that evening to have a few drinks with some friends. L to R: Chad, Martin, Noelle, and Scott.
